Welcome to Ujoint Off Road, where it's all about 4x4 vans! I've been helping people convert their vans for over 9 years, and created this website to make the process even simpler.

Here’s how it started:

I became a van enthusiast at an early age, and dreamed of driving one around the country. Then I saw my first 4x4 van on a trip to NY. That brought it to a whole new level! So I found a beat up, rusted 1978 Ford with a Pathfinder 4x4 conversion. I drove it around a while, then it decided that it didn’t want to run anymore. I proceeded to completely tear it apart. The drive train, every single wire, everything. It took me over 3 years to get it running again, and I can say I learned a few things! Especially what not to do! That van was great, took me all the way to California, where I started working in the off road industry. It didn’t take long before I decided to tear down the van again, upgrading the suspension. I did a few conversions for customers, and started to build the ultimate van in my head. So it was time to upgrade......

I started the Vanaconda build, planning the conversion kit and future upgrades the entire time. It had to be a daily driver, mountain bike shuttle, cross country driver, tow vehicle and camping rig, all in one. After several requests for copies of my kit, I decide to build a limited run in early 2007. The first production run sold out, and I was surprised at the amount of interest the idea generated. So when it was time to build more kits, I decided to start UJOR. I relocated back to NC, and started adding new product with  goal of making 4x4 van conversions easier for the DIY van enthusiast. Please check back often for the latest news!!

I prefer to work with every customer one on one, the old fashioned way. So I don't have a web store. Please feel free to call or email me with any questions/suggestions.

Thanks,

Chris

V4 is here!!! As some of you know, I've been looking for the perfect cab/chassis for months. I've looked at quite a few, and finally found the "one" about a month ago. It was destined for scrap, but I rescued it!!! It's a 2002 E350 7.3 diesel, 138" wheelbase. This will be a long build, a time filler. The plans are for a 6" lift, 12-14" cab back, and a flatbed. I'll be pulling the body soon to send it to paint & give us all the room we need to get the engine work done. Stay tuned!!!!

What does this have to do with 4x4 vans? Nothing.

UJOR is sponsoring Jody & Lisa Treadway as they tear across the southeast in this Jeep MJ. Jody is a member of the UJOR team, as the resident gear guru. Jody & Lisa are racing the ECORS series, and having tons of fun along the way. The Jeep has gone through a major transformation for the current season, including a custom front suspension & one ton axles. The 39" BFG's don't hurt either!
